Last Days..........

I can't believe it is almost here! 2 more days and I will officially start my new career, a stay at home mom!!! You can't imagine how excited I am for this new role, how i've longed to finally get this wonderful position and in just 2 days the wait will finally be over. :)

Coming back to work after maternity leave was one of the toughest things I had to do. Especially when my baby boy would only eat from his mommy. I know it was soo hard for Tahri during those tough days, not being able to comfort Tale or make him happy, but it was even harder on me knowing that my little man was at home crying for his mommy, his little tummy hurting so much because he was hungry. I hated coming home to a baby that was miserable and mad because he was hungry, it just broke my heart. I hated having to hand him off in the mornings so that I could get ready for work and when I left having him stare at me with those big blues eyes wondering how I could leave him. :( And now I get to spend all day playing with him and enjoying evey minute of him.

My time here at the University was wonderful though. The different capacities that I was able to serve in was truly a blessing. During my time with the online program, I had students that had to quit school because they had children to raise, and now are trying to finish their schooling. They would tell me all the time how lucky I was that I was done with school and that I didn't have to juggle being a mom and a wife while trying to take classes. And I agree, i'm sure it was a lot easier for me, but on the flip side I did get my education done, and I did start moving forward in my career, but then I had my son. And it was always my plan to be at home with my children until they started school, but where would that put me when I was ready to return to work? Would I have to start all over? Will I have to work my way back up again? I am jealous of some of these women who had their kids at a young age, and now that they are in school, they are finishing their education and getting started on their careers, where I'm taking a break from it. Will I be too old when I return? What will the job market be like for a woman who is older now and has been out of the workforce for so many years??? Oh the unknown. I guess you never know. I'm going to try not to worry about it right now and just enjoy my new role. Of course with technology the way it is now, perhaps I can get into some online teaching..............who knows.......certainly not me........ :)

Utah

Last week we got to go to Utah for our cousin's wedding. It was so much fun. The whole Idaho gang went. Vic and Ashley got married on Wednesday and then Cheka's wedding was on Saturday. Tahri and I only made it to Vic's wedding because we had to get back to pack up. This was our last weekend we had to do that, so we had to miss out on the Saturday wedding. We were bummed. We left on Wednesday afternoon and got there just in time for the wedding. The wedding was nice, bride and groom looked sooo good. Congrats you two!

Poor Tale, he would get so scared when there was lots of noise. You can tell he is an only child, he is not used to so much noise, and he was the only baby that would cry. :( He could only be comforted by his mommy, my poor son. He would have big tears running down his face and his little lips could be curled down like a sad face. :( so mommy couldn't be her crazy self on the dance floor, she had to keep Tale safe from all the noise. Although we did manage to get in one dance together. :) The next day a few of us went rafting, it was good fun. I didn't ge a picture of it because I didn't want to get my camera all wet. We rented a 8 man raft and then the boys rented some single tubes to ride down the river. We tried to get them all to ride in the raft with us but they insisted on going in the tubes. Of course half way down all the boys got in the raft and we tied their tubes to the side of the raft. Apparently the water was freezing, it was pretty swallow in some places and well just not as fun as the big raft. Ah told you so........ha!

That night we went to a Brazillian resturant called Tuscano's or something like that. Oh it was sooo good. It is an all you can eat type of place, they bring you all kinds of different meat to your table and they crave you slices or pieces of it, and they just keep it coming. They have a salad bar that you can get all kinds of different side, that was soo ono, I could have been good with just the salad bar. But the meat was sooo good too, but by the end of the night, I was like oh please stop, no more meat!!!! :)

Friday morning Uncle Casey and Aunty Leilani made everyone breakfast at their place. We ate and played a game, and then that afternoon Tahri and I drove home. :( Missed out on the second half of all the fun. Oh well, at least we got a ton of packing done. It was awesome to see all the family and hang out together before we take off to New York. Who knows when we will be able to see everyone again.

This is Tale on Saturday after packing all day. :)

Baby Pixs

Tale boi is getting so big. He will be six months soon. He is rolling all over the place and wants to grab everything and put it in his mouth. He is starting to get up on all fours and rock himself, he will be crawling in no time. He loves to sing and laugh and roll around on the ground. Oh he is just so precious!
Tale in his hat waiting to go outside. Mommy needs to pull it down a bit. Tale boi eating his cereal but wanting mommy's good stuff. ha!
Trying to go to sleep but Mommy keeps taking pictures.

July 4th

The 4th of July was so much fun. The weather was pretty good, the morning always started off nice and warm and then a thunderstorm would come through in the evenings. But we played lots of tennis on the 3rd, then moved indoors when the rain came and did some swimming at turtle bay, and everyone headed over to watch some fireworks, but we headed home because Tale was getting tired and Chanel was going crazy with all the fireworks going on. On the 4th we headed to the lake for boating, sun, and bbq. Then we headed back to the Adolphos where we played more tennis and ate some more. Again no fireworks for us because of Chanel! It was such a fun weekend, sure will miss all the family when we leave. :(

All of us at the lake

New York

I've finally told my boss so I feel like I can finally share the news. Tahri got accepted to graduate school at Cornell University for the Fall semester. We are sooo excited for him, but i'm soo nervous to go. I just don't see how we will make it all work, but he is confident that it will so I'm slowly coming on board with it. It is such a great opportunity for him, but I just worry so much about the timing. It all seems so rushed to me. I really like to have everything in order before I move forward on something and I don't feel anything in order at this time. errrr........

We have to be in New York by the second week of August, so we only have a few weeks left with our Idaho family. :( The forth of July will be fun and i'm looking forward to a nice weekend. Of course we will also be taking advantage of the time off to start downsizing and packing up things to get ready for the move!
