Ithaca is Gorges

When we first got here, that phrase was on t-shirts, cups, bumper stickers, everywhere, I didn't fully understand it until now. Man Ithaca has some really awesome places. We have really been enjoying getting out together and exploring this place a little more. We went to two different parks and did the hike. The hikes weren't too bad but I would have enjoyed them a lot more if I wasn't 9 months pregnant. It seemed so much harder than it really was.

These pictures are from Buttermilk Falls. The falls were so pretty, we were a little bummed we couldn't get in the water though.

These pictures are a little out of order, this is the start of our hike, there were some really steep parts in the trail that weren't very fun. We finally got to level ground and Tale had a blast running around. I was grateful for a break. :)At the end of our hike there was a really nice park that we took Tale to. He had a blast with his daddy. He took his shoes off and was able to walk up the slide, he was so proud of himself, but instead of going back down, he walked down the stairs and then crawled back up the slide. I don't know what he was thinking. :) Oh well it kept him busy. :) At the front of this picture there is a little spinning thing, he loved that! It was so funny to watch him try to walk after spinning him around and around. He couldn't get enough of it. His daddy was spinning him so fast on it too, I thought he was going to get sick, but he kept begging for more. It was a big day for Tale, as soon as he got into the car he was out! Robert Treman Park was beautiful too, we had a lot of fun here. I think we really liked the fact that you could go swimming just about anywhere. The water was a little too cold for Tale, but he still loved being in the shallow areas splashing around.

The hike wasn't too bad, there were a lot of steps and we didn't go too far because I was getting tired. Probably not the best for someone that is nearly 38 weeks pregnant. ha! So this isn't the best picture but you can see one of the waterfalls, and get a side profile of my big belly.

How pretty is that view? It reminded us a little of the narrows at Zion Park.

The summer so far has been a lot of fun! We love having daddy home with us. Tahri starts working tomorrow so i'm a little bummed, but hopefully we can get to a few more hikes before baby comes. I can't believe how many spots there are here. Ithaca sure is beautiful.

I am so impressed you even attempted to hike! I think I barely moved my last month of pregnancy. You seriously still look like your 6 months pregnant.
